Show yourself a little love with these nine tips that will help you have a less stressful 2018.
1. Get some rest.
You’re probably well aware of the many health benefits associated with a good night’s sleep. When you are fully rested, you’re more prepared to take on the day’s challenges. There are lots of apps out there to help you get the best sleep possible. A favorite tip among the TrackR team is to listen to a podcast or audiobook while falling asleep. 2. Enjoy a massage.
Stress can lead to tense muscles. We’ve all felt the achy pain of sore shoulders and necks after a long day. Try getting a relaxing massage to relieve the tension in your muscles. 3. Buy that outfit you’ve been eyeing.
When you look good you feel good. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by daily stressors, take a trip to the mall or browse your favorite online stores. You don’t need a reason to treat yourself to a new outfit! And taking a break will help you clear your mind.
4. Read a book.
Nothing takes your mind off of stressful things like a good book. Immerse yourself in a thrilling fiction novel or expand your mind with some self-help books. 5. Be active.
Whether you prefer the gym, a yoga studio, or simply getting outside for a hike — make exercise a priority in 2018. There are an infinite number of studies that show the stress-relieving benefits of regular exercise. Have a friend join you so you can hold each other accountable and have some fun!
6. Cut down on caffeine.
Although there is no better feeling than that first sip of coffee in the morning, you may want to consider cutting down on your caffeine intake. Caffeine is shown to through off sleep cycles and dehydrates you. Try swapping out that afternoon coffee for a nice herbal tea.
7. Spend quality time with family and friends.
It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind of work and responsibilities. But it’s so important to make time for friends and family. They will help by giving you an outlet to vent your frustrations. It will be a nice break for your mind, and you’ll be glad you spent the time with them.
8. Try meditation.
You’d be surprised what a little meditation can do. All you have to do is set aside as little as five minutes for some quiet time. It’s really easy to pick up. Plus, there are plenty of apps out there that can help guide you through the meditation process.
9. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
