Meetings. Project deadlines. Car troubles. Laundry. The seemingly never-ending list of chores and responsibilities can be overwhelming. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day!

Eventually, the stress can build up until it wears you down completely. And that’s a one-way ticket to using up precious sick days fighting a cold or flu.

Don’t you think you deserve better? It’s time to fight back against stress!

Show yourself a little love with these nine tips that will help you have a less stressful 2018.

1. Get some rest.

You’re probably well aware of the many health benefits associated with a good night’s sleep. When you are fully rested, you’re more prepared to take on the day’s challenges. There are lots of apps out there to help you get the best sleep possible. A favorite tip among the TrackR team is to listen to a podcast or audiobook while falling asleep. Just make sure to stick with gentle themes — no Stephen King novels!

2. Enjoy a massage.

Stress can lead to tense muscles. We’ve all felt the achy pain of sore shoulders and necks after a long day. Try getting a relaxing massage to relieve the tension in your muscles. Once your body feels less stressed, your whole outlook will improve. Did you know you can use an app to book a masseuse to visit your home for a massage session? What a great time to be alive!

3. Buy that outfit you’ve been eyeing.

When you look good you feel good. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by daily stressors, take a trip to the mall or browse your favorite online stores. You don’t need a reason to treat yourself to a new outfit! And taking a break will help you clear your mind.

4. Read a book.

Nothing takes your mind off of stressful things like a good book. Immerse yourself in a thrilling fiction novel or expand your mind with some self-help books. Whether you’re a fan of paperbacks, tablets, or audiobooks, the important thing is that you’re reading! Do you have any go-to books for relieving stress? Let us know on Twitter!

7. Spend quality time with family and friends.

It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind of work and responsibilities. But it’s so important to make time for friends and family. They will help by giving you an outlet to vent your frustrations. It will be a nice break for your mind, and you’ll be glad you spent the time with them.

8. Try meditation.
